COURSE CONDITIONS AND WARNINGS
Warnings based on information from the route markings added in the week before the race (information is valid for Thursday 08.10. 12:00 CET):
Section Čadca (start) - K4 Semeteš: the trail is fine, there were some puddles in a few spots, but they can be avoided by walking around on the worn path. No major logging or fallen trees.
K2 Ochodnica: heads up, you’ll need to detour to the refreshment station in the village of Ochodnica (check the course map and the picture too). The aid station with a checkpoint is at house no. 225. After passing the church, turn left and after about 100 meters, you’ll reach it. Once you’ve checked in and had some refreshments, head back the same way and continue along the green hiking trail and race markings.
K3 Dlhá nad Kysucou: heads up, the refreshment station in the village of Dlhá nad Kysucou is a little off the main path (check out the course map and the picture too). The aid station and checkpoint is located in front of the grocery store. From the turn of the yellow hiking trail off the main road to the right, K3 is about 130 m away (you'll pass the municipal office building and then see K3 on the right side). After checking in and grabbing some refreshments, you'll head back past the municipal office building about 130 m and then turn left to continue on the yellow hiking trail and the race markings.
K4 Semeteš - U Cipára: note that the K4 aid station is located in the courtyard. From the side street, turn left before the building and enter through the gate into the courtyard.
Section K4 Semeteš - K6 Portáš: the course is passable without problems. Due to the surface – if there is heavy rainfall before the event – expect muddy sections between Nad Zápačou - Makov, Kopanice, and also from the saddle Sedlo pod Lemešnou to Pod Hričovcom.
K6 Portáš: heads up, the K6 refreshment station is inside the Mountain Hotel Portáš building, not outside.
Section K6 Portáš - K7 Beňadin: the course is passable without problems. Because of extreme dryness (hard surface), wire flags were not used for marking this section.
Section K7 Beňadin - finish in Lysá pod Makytou: the surface is dry and hard; currently (Tuesday in the week before the event) there is no mud on the course.
